«Die Gelehrten der Scheibenwelt» is the fantasy and science novel by Terry Pratchett, Ian Stewart and Jack Cohen, published by Heyne in paperback in German.
The wizards of the Unseen University accidentally create a small universe, the Rundwelt, which works without magic and obeys the laws of science. Following the history of that world, from the Big Bang to the internet, the authors combine fiction and popular science to explain how our universe looks from outside, with Discworld humour.
First instalment of the Science of Discworld series; the original English, The Science of Discworld, was published in 1999. This German Heyne edition (2000) has 476 pages.
For fantasy readers who want popular science with humour, especially fans of Terry Pratchett and Discworld.
Ian Nicholas Stewart is a British mathematician and a popular-science, textbooks, and science-fiction books writer. He is Emeritus Professor of Mathematics at the University of Warwick, England.
