«Desde el techo de Europa» is the historical and sociological essay by Ramón Garriga-Marqués, published by Argos Vergara in paperback (252 pages, in Spanish).
The author, a Spanish journalist who worked for nearly a quarter of a century in northern Europe, reviews the current affairs and profile of Finland, Denmark, Sweden and Norway. Through his reports and contacts with Nordic society, he analyses language, taxes, social security and education, debunks clichés and contrasts these cultures with the Latin one.
The book, subtitled «Perfil actual de los Países Nórdicos», is part of the Libros de Bolsillo Argos Vergara collection; first edition, Barcelona, 1978.
For readers interested in the history and society of the Nordic countries and in the perspective of a Spanish correspondent of the era.
