«Der kleine Häwelmann» is the children's story by Theodor Storm, published by Stalling Verlags GmbH in hardback (16 pages, in German).
Little Häwelmann doesn't want to sleep: he asks the moon to open the door for him and goes for a ride in his bed on wheels while everyone sleeps. He travels through empty streets, the forest and the fields, always asking «more, more!» of his lunar companion, who lights his way among animals and nocturnal landscapes up to the sky.
The book is illustrated by Else Wenz-Viëtor.
For reading aloud to young children, especially as a bedtime story.
Hans Theodor Woldsen Storm, commonly known as Theodor Storm, was a German-Frisian writer and poet. He is considered to be one of the most important figures of German realism.
