«Cyrano de Bergerac» is Edmond Rostand's verse play, published by Austral in paperback (232 pages, in Spanish).
Set in 17th-century France, it tells the story of Cyrano, a poet and swordsman of great talent who is insecure about his oversized nose. In love with Roxane but convinced his appearance prevents it, he lends his voice and verses to another man to win her, in a tale of duels, wit and sacrifice.
This edition dates from 1999, published in Barcelona, and is part of the Austral Clásica collection, Theatre series, volume 1; Rostand's original work dates from 1897.
Aimed at literature students and readers of classical theatre, with its blend of romantic drama and tragicomedy.

Edmond Eugène Alexis Rostand was a French poet and dramatist. He is associated with neo-romanticism and is known best for his 1897 play Cyrano de Bergerac. Rostand's romantic plays contrasted with the naturalistic theatre popular during the late nineteenth century. Another of Rostand's works, Les Romanesques (1894), was adapted to the 1960 musical comedy The Fantasticks.
