«Cuentos de los días raros» is the collection of fantastic short stories by José María Merino, published by Punto de Lectura in hardback (240 pages, in Spanish).
Fifteen stories probe the strange and the fatal that lurks behind the everyday: a professor facing an artificial intelligence, a Beatles song that opens another universe, or the search for a nonexistent city. There are also metamorphoses, time travel, and revelations of memory, in texts where concision reinforces the mystery.
The book was originally published in November 2004; this Punto de Lectura edition appeared in May 2007.
For readers of short stories and fantastic literature with an interest in contemporary Spanish narrative.
