«Cuentos africanos» is a children's storybook by Susan Akono, published by Ediciones del Laberinto in paperback (64 pages, in Spanish).
It collects ten stories that bring African oral tradition to young readers: there are tales only about animals, such as «El elefante y el mosquito», and others with human protagonists, such as «El cortesano y el pobre hombre». The collection reflects Africa's cultural and geographical diversity and includes illustrations by María Pascual.
It belongs to the Labericuentos collection, green series (number 8), and is the first edition, published on 24 May 2007.
Recommended for readers aged 8 to 10, interested in illustrated stories and in African tradition and culture.
