«Cuando metí la pata» is a children's story by Roberto Aliaga, published by Anaya in paperback (32 pages, in Spanish).
A mother tells her daughter a secret from her childhood every night: on this occasion, she remembers when the school headmaster sent her to his office after she got angry with her friend María and broke her watch. At that moment she discovers something important: recognising one's own mistakes and understanding that things can be seen in several ways.
It belongs to the collection «¿Te cuento un secreto?» and was published in 2016. It uses handwritten lettering. Miguel Ángel Díez also appears on the cover.
Reading intended for pre-readers and early readers; its everyday tone gives rise to family conversations about mistakes and honesty.
