«Contra Paraíso» is the novel by Manuel Vicent published by Destino in paperback, with 232 pages, in Spanish.
Manuel Vicent recalls his childhood in La Vilabella from 1936: the church turned into a bar, his father hidden in a loft while the Republicans occupied the ground floor, and an outside world of acrobats, trenches, trading cards and the sea. The discipline of home is set against street imagination in a nostalgic and sensual novel.
It belongs to the Áncora y Delfín collection. The cover is by Andreu Alfaro. This is the second edition.
