«Contos por palabras» is a book of eight fantasy stories by Agustín Fernández Paz, published by Edicións Xerais in hardback (152 pages, in Galician).
Eight fantastical and humorous stories that arise from the classified ads of a newspaper: a man who duplicates keys, a female unicorn at a marriage agency, a vampire in a coffin factory, and a superhero with everyday problems. The volume closes with the bookseller who seeks a book of magical properties.
It belongs to the Merlín collection of children's and young adult literature. With illustrations by Luís Enjamio. The work won the Lazarillo Prize 1990 and the IBBY Honour List 1992.
Ideal for readers aged 11 and up who enjoy short stories where the fantastical and humour spring from everyday situations.
