«Complete Nonsense» is Edward Lear's collection of absurd poetry and stories, published by Wordsworth Editions in paperback (272 pages, in English).
It brings together Edward Lear's nonsensical poetry and tales: limericks, songs, alphabets and impossible recipes, with classics such as «The Owl and the Pussy-Cat», «Calico Pie» and «The Pobble Who Has No Toes». Edward Lear illustrated the edition, which closes with some drawings of his cat Foss.
Revised edition from the Wordsworth Children's Classics collection, with complete, unabridged texts.
«Complete Nonsense» is aimed at young people and adults; its absurd humour has been entertaining both audiences for over a hundred years.
Edward Lear was an English artist, illustrator, musician, author and poet, who is known mostly for his literary nonsense in poetry and prose and especially his limericks, a form he popularised but which term he never used.
