Campo de los almendros is a novel by Max Aub, published in 1968. The story takes place in Alicante, in the last days of March 1939, when Madrid has already been lost and only a Republican redoubt remains on the Mediterranean coast. The novel describes a sordid period of the Spanish Civil War through a multitude of real and imaginary characters.

Max Aub Mohrenwitz was a Mexican-Spanish experimentalist novelist, playwright, poet, and literary critic. In 1965 he founded the literary periodical Los Sesenta, with editors that included the poets Jorge Guillén and Rafael Alberti.
