«Botas nuevas» is a children's story by Anna Manso, illustrated by Àfrica Fanlo, published by Fundación Intermón Oxfam in paperback (32 pages, in Spanish).
Gemma Mengual presents this story about effort: Romualda, a somewhat lazy witch, wants some lace-up boots, but she doesn't know how to tie them and her mother warns her that she'll have to learn if she wants to wear them. The narrative shows that magic doesn't always solve everything and that effort pays off.
Part of the «Valores» collection from Cuentos sin fronteras, focused on small solidarity values. Translation by Alberto Jiménez Rioja.
For young readers and for working on the value of effort at home or in the classroom.
