«Bettý» is the crime novel by Arnaldur Indriðason, published by Points in paperback (236 pages, in French).
In this novel, a man imprisoned for the murder of Bettý's husband reconstructs from his cell how he met her at a colloquium and how he ended up working for her spouse. Although the police are not looking for another culprit and all the pieces seem to point to him, he maintains that he is innocent.
This novel, written before the series that introduced Commissioner Erlendur, was originally published in 2003; its French translation is by Patrick Guelpa.
For readers of crime and mystery novels who prefer first-person narratives and do not need to know the Commissioner Erlendur series.
