«Au temps de la Renaissance: Lorenzo, Florence, 1469-1472» is Karine Safa's children's history book, published by Gallimard Jeunesse in paperback.
In Florence in 1469, Lorenzo, an eleven-year-old boy who dreams of becoming a copyist, enters the workshop of the painter Pollaiolo as an apprentice. His diary mixes fiction and popularization: the passion for painting, the fascination with printing, and the discovery of the Medici, architecture, and daily life in the Renaissance.
64 pages in French, illustrated by Michaël Welply and Marcelino Truong. It belongs to the collection «Le journal d'un enfant» and includes flaps and a central four-page fold-out.
Recommended for young readers aged 8 to 13 with curiosity about history, art, and life in the Renaissance.
