A reference work in two sections: the theoretical part explains the origin of the universe, its phenomena and objects, from distant galaxies to the planets of the Solar System; the practical part teaches how to observe the sky, locate constellations and use celestial maps. It includes a monthly sky guide and a star calendar for eight years.
It was published in 2007, is volume 1 of the Temáticos Ilustrados collection and belongs to the Guías Visuales Espasa series.
Aimed at astronomy enthusiasts who want to start observing the night sky or expand their knowledge of the universe.
Ian William Ridpath is an English science writer and broadcaster best known as a popularizer of astronomy and a biographer of constellation history. As a UFO sceptic, he investigated and explained the Rendlesham Forest Incident of December 1980.
