«Aquel domingo» is the novel by Jorge Semprún, published by Seix Barral in paperback (375 pages, in Spanish).
A former Spanish communist militant, survivor of the Nazi camps, recalls a Sunday in December 1944: a company of Polish Jews abandoned in the rain becomes for him an emblem of a defeated humanity and a starting point for a meditation on memory and double survival, physical and ideological.
It was published in 1986 in the Literatura Contemporánea collection, as its number 95.
It is aimed at readers of contemporary Spanish fiction interested in historical memory, World War II and the weight of political ideologies.

Jorge Semprún Maura was a Spanish writer and politician who lived in France most of his life and wrote primarily in French. From 1953 to 1962, during the dictatorship of Francisco Franco, Semprún lived clandestinely in Spain working as an organizer for the exiled Communist Party of Spain, but was expelled from the party in 1964. After the death of Franco and the change to a democratic government, he served as Minister of Culture in Spain's socialist government from 1988 to 1991.
