«Álvaro e Álvaro» is the children's fantasy novel by Xosé Miranda, published by Edicións Xerais in paperback (64 pages, in Galician).
Álvaro, a thin, bespectacled and absent-minded boy, falls into a hole in the Cova do Rei Cintolo during a school trip. Since then, he suffers the appearance of an identical double who takes his place at home, stealing his spot, his toys and his parents' affection. Only his sister distrusts the newcomer. Narrated with simplicity and humour, it is illustrated by Patricia Castelao.
It belongs to the Merlín collection, aimed at readers aged 9 and up. First edition published in 2004.
Recommended for young readers who enjoy fantastic stories about doubles and everyday mysteries, in the Galician language.
