Synopsis of Aloma
Aloma, publicada inicialmente en 1938, es la novela que une las producciones de preguerra y posguerra de Mercè Rodoreda. Es el único título de su primera etapa que la autora reconoció, y la versión revisada de 1969 permite observar la evolución de la autora y comprender mejor su obra. La novela narra la historia de Aloma, una joven barcelonesa de dieciocho años, y su relación con Robert, un pariente político que regresa de América. El relato se centra en los sentimientos contradictorios de Aloma y cómo vive esta relación tanto individualmente como en su entorno social, enfrentándola a una realidad muy diferente de sus ideales adolescentes.
