«A nova história» is the historical essay by Jacques Le Goff, published by Edições 70 (89 pages, in Portuguese).
Jacques Le Goff presents the «new history» as a renewed way of practising the historian's craft: in contrast to traditional approaches, centred on illustrious biographies or broad syntheses, the historian must act as an observer and approach historical processes with greater analytical depth, thereby redefining their role and the scope of the discipline.
Published in 1991.
For history students and readers interested in the evolution of contemporary historical thought.
