«À la découverte des Falasha» is the historical essay by Bernard Nantet and Édith Ochs, published by Payot in paperback (211 pages, in French).
The book stems from the journey to Abyssinia (Ethiopia) that French orientalist Joseph Halévy undertook in 1867 to meet the Falasha, the Ethiopian Jews. It includes two accounts by Halévy, «Une tragédie en Abyssinie» and «La tribu retrouvée», and examines the history, social situation and ethnic relations of this community in Ethiopia and Israel.
