Rafael Sabatini was born in the picturesque Italian town of Jesi in 1875.
He is world-renowned for his unforgettable adventure novels such as Scaramouche and Captain Blood.
Throughout his prolific career, he wrote over a thousand works including novels, stories, and screenplays.
Although born in Italy, he developed much of his literary career in the United Kingdom.
His remains rest in the Swiss town of Adelboden, where he passed away in 1950.
