Robert Doisneau began his professional career training as an engraver and lithographer at the prestigious École Estienne in Paris.
Before establishing himself as a photographer, he worked for five years as an industrial photographer at the Renault factories.
His iconic work Le baiser de l'hôtel de ville is one of the most recognized portraits in the history of photography.
Throughout his prolific career, he collaborated with internationally renowned magazines such as Life, Vogue, and Paris-Match.
He was awarded the Grand Prix National de la Photographie in 1983 and named a Chevalier de la Légion d'Honneur a year later.
