Dana Simpson grew up in Gig Harbor, Washington, spending most of her childhood drawing.
Her comic career began with the popular webcomic Ozy and Millie, which she drew for a decade.
She rose to international fame after winning the Comic Strip Superstar contest in 2009.
She is the creator of the hit series Phoebe and Her Unicorn, originally titled Heavenly Nostrils.
She currently lives near Seattle with her husband and her cat, whom she humorously describes as fairly stupid.
