Edmund Crispin was the pseudonym of the British writer and composer Robert Bruce Montgomery.
His most famous work is the mystery novel The Moving Toyshop.
He created the iconic character Gervase Fen, the protagonist of his detective stories set in Oxford.
In addition to writing nine novels and two short story collections, he was a notable film score composer.
