Lucy Coats is an English writer of picture books, poetry, stories and novels for children of all ages. Her speciality is retelling myths and legend from many cultures.

Lucy Coats is a prolific British author with over 90 published works dedicated to children's literature.

Her fascination with Greek mythology began at the age of seven and has shaped much of her literary career.

She was shortlisted for the prestigious Blue Peter Book Prize in 2004 for her work on Greek myths.

She writes from her home in the Northamptonshire countryside, surrounded by green fields and sheep.

Her dog Hero is her loyal work companion, always keeping her company at her desk while she writes.
