John Baxter is a prolific Australian author with a career spanning 75 published works.

His fascination with cinema has led him to write numerous biographies of iconic film figures, such as Robert De Niro.

Although born in Australia, Baxter lived in several countries before making Paris his permanent home in 1989.

His creative versatility has allowed him to explore both science fiction and the documentary genre, including a study on the painter Fernando Botero.

Beyond his literary work, he has served as a screenwriter and presenter for television series for the Australian Broadcasting Commission.
