Manuel Enrique Alejandro Ayala Mora is a historian, political editorial writer, and a professor of Ecuador, who has been ideologue of the Socialist Party of Ecuador, and founder and former rector of the headquarters of Quito from the Universidad Andina Simón Bolívar.

Enrique Ayala Mora is a prominent Ecuadorian historian whose main work, the New History of Ecuador, is a fundamental reference for understanding the country.

His academic background includes a doctorate in History obtained at the prestigious University of Oxford in 1982.

He was the founder and former rector of the Quito campus of the Simón Bolívar Andean University, consolidating his pedagogical work.

In addition to his research, he has had an active political career as a deputy and assembly member in Ecuador.

With a prolific career, he has published 45 works exploring Ecuadorian history, politics, and historiography.
