«Zawi» is the historical novel by José Luis Serrano, published by Roca Bolsillo in paperback (304 pages, in Spanish).
Set in al-Andalus at the beginning of the 11th century, the novel weaves together four threads: the civil war that breaks out in 1009, the figure of Almanzor, the life of Zawi Zirí, a Berber mercenary, and the founding of the kingdom of Granada. It recreates the refined Andalusian society, its kingdoms and courts, with battles and characters that marked an era.
The edition belongs to the Roca Bolsillo Histórica collection and was published on 28 March 2008.
Aimed at readers of historical and adventure fiction interested in al-Andalus and the origins of the kingdom of Granada.
