«You've Had Your Time» is the second part of Anthony Burgess's autobiography, published by Penguin in paperback (416 pages, in English).
The narrative opens in 1959, when Burgess returns from Brunei after a prognosis that gave him a year to live: he begins to live by writing. Among his memories are film commissions, poorly received novels, controversial journalism, two marriages and a recognised paternity. The book closes on the centenary of James Joyce, with reflections on literature and life.
Published in 1991 by Penguin Books, it is the second and final volume of Anthony Burgess's two-part confessions.
For readers of writers' memoirs and for followers of Anthony Burgess who want to complete the view of his life.
