Synopsis of Yo soy fulana de tal

«Yo soy fulana de tal» is the satirical novel by Álvaro de Laiglesia, published by Planeta in hardback (280 pages, in Spanish).

It narrates the trajectory of Mapi, a naive young woman from the provinces who arrives in the city and ends up turning to prostitution; with irony and humour, the story uses that journey to satirise the morality, appearances and hypocrisy of Spanish society at the time.

First instalment of the «Mapi» series. The novel was adapted into film with Conchita Velasco playing the role of Mapi.
