«Y Dios se hizo hermano» is the biography of St John of God by Valentín A. Riesco Álvarez, published by San Pablo in paperback (176 pages, in Spanish).
The book follows Juan Ciudad from his origins as a shepherd to his time in the military and his trade as an itinerant seller of religious books and prints. Taken for mad and mistreated in a hospital, he finds his vocation there and strives to create a centre where the poor and the sick can be cared for with dignity. His devotion to those in need, his piety and his trust in God made him known as the blessed John of God.
It belongs to the Vidas breves collection from Editorial San Pablo; first edition, with ten illustrations.
For readers interested in Christian spirituality and biographies of saints.
