«Vonk: een noodlottige liefde» is the historical chronicle by Steffie van den Oord, published by Atlas Contact in 2013 in paperback (255 pages, in Dutch).
In 1713, Anna Maria Vonk, mother of four, is tried alongside her lover, Lieutenant Behr, for the murder of her husband. Three centuries later, the trial records, love letters and testimonies paint a Shakespearean drama of seduction and betrayal, narrated as a historical chronicle by Steffie van den Oord.
Will appeal to readers of historical non-fiction and true crime, with a court case that unfolds like a period drama.
