Voce umana is a unique release featuring both a short film and a book. The film, directed by Edoardo Ponti and starring Sophia Loren, is a contemporary adaptation of Jean Cocteau's classic 'La voix humaine'. It tells the story of Angela, a woman navigating the pain of loss and the fleeting hope of a new connection through phone calls with an unseen lover. The accompanying book provides insightful context, including interviews with Sophia Loren and Edoardo Ponti, and an analysis by Maurizio Porro on the significance of Cocteau's work in Italian theater and television.
