«Viviré con su nombre, morirá con el mío» is the novel by Jorge Semprún, published by Tusquets Editores S.A. in paperback (240 pages, in Spanish).
In the winter of 1944, the Gestapo demands Jorge Semprún at Buchenwald. The camp's communists intercept the message and plan to hide him behind the identity of a dying prisoner. The episode articulates a memory where horror coexists with the Resistance, occupied Paris and childhood in Madrid, and solidarity sustains hope.
The work is a translation from the French of «Le mort qu'il faut» and is part of the Andanzas collection from Tusquets Editores S.A.
For readers of historical fiction and testimonies, especially those seeking the perspective of a Buchenwald survivor.

Jorge Semprún Maura was a Spanish writer and politician who lived in France most of his life and wrote primarily in French. From 1953 to 1962, during the dictatorship of Francisco Franco, Semprún lived clandestinely in Spain working as an organizer for the exiled Communist Party of Spain, but was expelled from the party in 1964. After the death of Franco and the change to a democratic government, he served as Minister of Culture in Spain's socialist government from 1988 to 1991.
