«Virginibus Purisque» is a collection of essays by Robert Louis Stevenson, published by Premia editora in paperback (153 pages, in Spanish).
A series of essays in which Stevenson, with irony, examines youth and maturity, love and marriage, idleness and the passage of time. He addresses his contemporaries with a satirical gaze close to Ben Jonson or Thackeray, and texts such as 'El Dorado' or 'Walking Tours' defend a reflective, unhurried life.
The work was originally published in 1881 as Virginibus Puerisque; the Spanish translation is by Eulalia Calvarriato de Alonso.
Aimed at readers interested in the philosophical essay, social satire, and classic nineteenth-century British prose.
Nineteenth-century Scottish novelist, poet and travel writer, author of Treasure Island and Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde.
