«Vida esquecida» is the science fiction novel by Brian W. Aldiss, published by Dom Quixote in paperback (352 pages, in Portuguese).
It tells the lives of two brothers, Joseph and Clement Winter, over fifty years and several countries: the failure of Clement's marriage to the celebrated Sheila and Joseph's adventures in Burma and Sumatra during the Second World War. The relationship between the two, marked by kinship and death, structures the narrative.
Second instalment in the series The Squire Quartet. Portuguese translation of Forgotten Life, original from 1988, signed by J. Freitas e Silva; edition released in 1993.
