«A cabeza descalza» is the science fiction novel by Brian W. Aldiss, published by Ediciones Orbis in paperback (304 pages, in Spanish).
In a world recovering from the Acid Head War, where hallucinogenic chemical weapons blur the line between reality and delirium, Colin Charteris tries to make sense of his surroundings. Mistaken for a new messiah, he is swept along by paranoid visions and a New Order that only thinks in old stereotypes.
«A cabeza descalza» was originally published as «Barefoot in the Head» in 1969. This 1985 Spanish edition, translated by Jesús Gómez García, belongs to the Biblioteca de Ciencia Ficción collection, no. 42.
For science fiction readers seeking post-apocalyptic dystopias and experimental prose, with echoes of the 1960s.
Brian Wilson Aldiss was an English writer, artist and anthology editor, best known for science-fiction novels and short stories. His byline reads either Brian W. Aldiss or simply Brian Aldiss, except for occasional pseudonyms during the mid-1960s.
