«Vida e fugas de Fanto Fantini» is the adventure novel by Álvaro Cunqueiro, published by Edicións Positivas in paperback (159 pages, in Galician).
Set in fifteenth-century Italy, it follows the adventures of Fanto Fantini della Gherardesca, a condottiero and professional fugitive accompanied by his servant Nito, his dog Remo and his horse Lionfante. The original work, «Vida y fugas de Fanto Fantini della Gherardesca», was published in 1972; the present Galician edition is a translation by Xosé Henrique Costas González.
Álvaro Cunqueiro Mora was a Galician novelist, poet, playwright, and journalist. He is the author of many works in both Galician and Spanish, including Merlín e familia. He was a cofounder of the Galician Writers Association. In 1991, Galician Literature Day was dedicated to him.
