«Viatge d'hivern» is the short story collection by Jaume Cabré, published by Proa in 2000 in paperback (272 pages, in Catalan).
The stories in this volume traverse human passions and the intimate history of Europe, from Vienna to Treblinka and from Oslo to Bosnia, with stops such as the Vatican. Set in diverse eras and settings, the stories maintain a secret unity that emerges as the reading progresses, forming a highly subtle narrative web.
The book is part of the A Tot Vent-Beta collection and received the Premi Crítica Serra d'Or de Contes i Narracions 2001.
Jaume Cabré i Fabré is a Catalan philologist, novelist and screenwriter. He was one of the founders of the Catalan literary collective, Ofèlia Dracs.
