Commissario Brunetti investigates the body of a night watchman found beside the glass furnaces of Murano. The victim leaves two books in his room: a treatise on occupational diseases and Dante's Inferno. These clues lead the detective to a plot of political corruption and ecological crimes on the waters of Venice.
«Veneno de cristal» is the fifteenth instalment of the Commissario Brunetti series; its original title is «Through a Glass, Darkly».
For readers of crime and detective fiction who value investigations with a social backdrop and Venetian setting.
Donna Leon is the American author of a series of crime novels set in Venice, Italy, featuring the fictional hero Commissario Guido Brunetti. The novels are written in English and have been translated into many foreign languages, although – at Leon's request – not into Italian, as she formerly lived there, still visits monthly, and prefers not to have recognition in the country.
