«Vamos Falar de Dragões...» is the children's picture book by Kathryn Cave and Nick Maland, published by Livros Horizonte in hardback (40 pages, in Portuguese).
Dragons appear when least expected: the protagonist looks around and there they are, and for a moment he thinks he is dreaming. The story speaks with humour about childhood fears and problems, which often seem bigger than they really are.
Originally published in English as You've Got Dragons (2002). Nick Maland provides the illustrations. Included in the Plano Nacional de Leitura, recommended for preschool education and reading aloud.
For preschool children and early readers; works well as a read-aloud at home or in the classroom.
Kathryn Cave was a British children's book author. She was awarded the very first international UNESCO prize for Children's and Young People's Literature in the Service of Tolerance for Something Else. The book was later made into a TV comic series by TV Loonland. A theatre company, Tall Stories, has adapted Something Else as a children's production, and they ran a UK tour in Autumn 2009.
