«Unter dem Herzen» is the memoir by Ildikó von Kürthy, published by Wunderlich Verlag in paperback (304 pages, in German).
Ildikó von Kürthy, known for her humorous novels, recounts in diary form the pregnancy she experienced at 38: doubts, fears, joys and the vertigo of a child's arrival. She combines everyday scenes with reflections on motherhood and unconditional love, with a close and ironic tone about the new life of a first-time mother.
The work was published in 2012 and reached the Spiegel bestseller list; its subtitle is «Ansichten einer neugeborenen Mutter».
It appeals to expectant parents and, in particular, to mothers who want to find an ironic and sincere account of pregnancy and the first months.
