«Une semaine de vacances» is the novel by Christine Angot, published by Flammarion in paperback (136 pages, in French).
Christine Angot delivers a short novel written like a photograph: without breathing, seeking precision, capturing the instant and the movement. The text exerts its own violence, awakens a restlessness that cannot be dispelled, and shows how literature gives words their full power, lifting a veil so that we may see and understand.
The novel was published in 2012 as part of Flammarion's rentrée littéraire.
For readers of contemporary French fiction seeking a short, intense novel with literary force.
Christine Angot is a French novelist, playwright and screenwriter.
