«Rendez-vous» is the novel by Christine Angot published by Gallimard in its Folio collection in paperback (368 pages, in French).
The narrator meets an actor she has been hearing about for years: different people have told her that he admires her without ever having spoken to her. When they finally meet, they begin an intense relationship and she starts writing about both of them; that writing sets off a tug of war between passion for art and passion for life.
Rendez-vous was originally published in 2006 and won the Prix de Flore. This Folio edition is from 2008.
For readers of contemporary French fiction interested in novels that explore the relationship between literary creation and love life.
