«Una proposición indecente» is the romantic novel by Jack Engelhard, published by Ediciones B in 1997, in paperback (365 pages, in Spanish).
The couple formed by Joshua and Joan Kane receives an offer that will put their marriage to the test: an Arab millionaire proposes to Joshua one million dollars in exchange for one night with Joan. The novel follows the moral tensions, jealousy, and consequences that this decision triggers among the three, and adds a confrontation between the Jewish and Arab worlds that the film version left out.
The book inspired the 1993 film of the same name starring Robert Redford, Demi Moore, and Woody Harrelson. The Spanish edition is published under the VIB imprint of Ediciones B, belonging to Grupo Zeta.
