Una mà plena d'estels is the diary of a Syrian teenager in Damascus who dreams of becoming a journalist. Despite family pressure, he achieves his purpose, which allows him to come into contact with people fighting against the dictatorial regime in his country. First published in 1987, this novel by Rafik Schami transports us to the daily life of the Arab world, breaking stereotypes and prejudices, and is very topical. With autobiographical elements, it is a song to freedom.
