«Un tramvia a SP» is the novel by Unai Elorriaga published by Proa in 2003 in hardback, with 144 pages, in Catalan.
The novel narrates the process of dementia of an elderly man who dreams of the peaks of the Himalayas, with extravagant characters such as his sister María, an anonymous writer, and Marcos, a musician in search of his place. With humour, tenderness and a distorted gaze, it addresses love, illness and coexistence.
Winner of the Premio Nacional de Narrativa 2002, it was originally published in Basque as «Sprako Tranbia». This Catalan edition, translated by Pau Joan Hernández i de Fuenmayor, belongs to the A Tot Vent-Tela collection.
For readers of contemporary fiction who appreciate an award-winning debut and an original narrative style.
