«Un segle de castells: De 1900 a 2000 en dades» is the historical essay by Josep Bargalló Valls, published by Cossetània Edicions in paperback (152 pages).
The essay reviews the twentieth century of castells, the Catalan tradition of human towers. After presenting the main periods of castell history, it focuses on the stage opened in 1993, called «Els anys incomparables», and provides statistical data to support its conclusions.
The text is in Catalan and the book is the seventh volume of the L'Aixecador collection. It won the II Premi d'Assaig Casteller convened in 2000 by the Associació d'Amics Colla Jove Xiquets de Tarragona.
It is a work for those interested in Catalan popular culture and in learning the historical evolution of castells through data and statistics.
