«Un millón de vacas» is the short story collection by Manuel Rivas, published by Edicións Xerais in paperback, with 96 pages in Galician.
The stories, written as flashes or snapshots, form a tableau of Galicia at the time: human types, situations, contrasts and anecdotes where the modern and the rural coexist. The journalist's eye enriches the writer; there is humour and sensitivity, but also an invitation to look at the less visible face of reality.
The work was originally published in 1989; this second edition, of 19 July 2001, is part of the Edición Literaria - Narrativa collection.
For readers of Galician fiction and short stories; Manuel Rivas is an author translated into more than thirty languages.
Manuel Rivas Barrós is a Galician writer, poet and journalist.
