«Un cel de plom» is the biographical novel by Carme Martí Cantí about Neus Català, published by Ara Llibres in paperback (340 pages, in Catalan).
The novel reconstructs the life of Neus Català: childhood in Els Guiamets, youth cut short by the Spanish Civil War and exile to France. After collaborating with the Resistance, she is deported to Ravensbrück and Holleischen, where she survives thanks to moral strength and solidarity among her fellow prisoners, with the commitment not to forget.
First edition, published in 2013 in Barcelona within the Ara Mini collection. It is the first time that the life of Neus Català, narrated by herself, becomes a novel.
Recommended for readers interested in historical memory, the Spanish Civil War and testimonies from Nazi concentration camps.
